Introduction

Welcome to the South East Asia Breast Cancer Symposium 2016 

Breast cancer is the most common cancer and a leading cause of mortality in women in South East Asia. In recent years, health care in general, and particularly for women has received significant attention. The South East Asia Breast Cancer Symposium (SEABCS) provides a forum in which global and regional experts in the field of breast cancer will present and discuss advanced methods in: diagnosis, surgery, radiation and chemotherapy for both early and late stage interventions.

SEABCS 2016 will also focus on improving capacity for breast cancer prevention as well as presenting the latest information and innovations surrounding diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer for doctors in the region. Also included will be strengthening and expanding experience sharing among breast cancer support groups in an effort to enhance patient’s understanding of their disease as well as to improve their quality of life through the course treatment.

With a goal toward peace, health and happiness for all man and womankind in the world, the Symposium Organizing Committee warmly welcomes delegates interested in the field of breast cancer to participate in the South East Asia Breast Cancer Symposium 2016 to be held in Hue City, Vietnam, June 24 to 26, 2016.

INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE ORGANIZER

BREAST CANCER SOCIETY OF HUE

The Breast Cancer Society of Hue was founded by the Decision No. 1696/QD-UBND signed on August 20th 2014 by Chairman of People Committee of Thua Thien-Hue province. This is an unique legal society for breast cancer in Vietnam.

It is a registered professional body which has its own bank account and stamp. Its members are experts involving in research work and treatments of breast cancer, medical staffs and kind hearted individuals and breast cancer as well, who actively take part in National Target Program for prevention of breast cancer and other cancers in women.

It takes the responsibility to update and disseminate the latest knowledge as well as applies it in diagnosis and treatment practices of breast cancer, and little by little formulates regimens of treatments of breast cancer in Vietnam. It also holds events to raise awareness of breast cancer in community and support group for breast cancer patients.

BREAST SURGERY INTERNATIONAL BSI

 

Breast Surgery International (BSI) is a society of surgeons from all across the globe, who devote majority of their practice and efforts to patients with breast diseases-malignant and benign.

 

Breast Surgery International is dedicated and committed to the advancement of the science and art of breast surgery and maintenance of high standards in practice of breast surgery. An area of emphasis for the society is towards Developing quality breast cancer care in the Developing countries.

 

Breast Surgery International is a Collective Member Society of the International Society of Surgery/Société Internationale de Chirurgie (ISS/SIC) http://www.iss-sic.com.

 

The membership of the society is restricted to surgeons of high professional standing certified to practice surgery in their respective countries and who devote majority of time in practice and development of breast surgery and pursue research in various aspects of breast diseases.

GLOBAL FOCUS ON CANCER

Global Focus on Cancer (GFC) was formed in 2011 as a US based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to act as an agent of simple and effective change to help reduce the global burden of cancer.
